How to charge a 96v lithium battery. What charger is required?
There are different type of 96v lithium ion battery. Majority are NCM or lithium iron phosphate battery. For the NCM battery 96 volt. Normally it is based on 26S. Means nominal voltage is 26*3.7v=96.2 volt. And based on 4.2v per cell. The charging voltage will be 4.2v*26=109.2v. While for LiFePo4 96v lithium battery, it based on 3.2v nominal and 3.65v fully charged voltage. So, We know the battery pack will be 30S based. And charging voltage 30*3.65v=109.5v. The battery pack charging current will depending on BMS. Please contact with your supplier for detail suggestion.
Based on above. We suggest use a 109v battery charger. It is possible use for both NCM and LiFePo4 96 volt lithium battery bank. In additional, we always suggest to build communication between battery BMS with charger. So, Battery BMS will tell all information to charger, And charger knows when it required stop charging. This is very important. That's why , it is important to order 96v lithium battery charger together with battery pack with same supplier.
